Lists may seem mundane, but in reality they are an important form of journal writing. And just about everyone makes at least one list in their lifetime. Lists offer a peek into everyday life, ideas, dreams or fears. Einstein once wrote a list of demands to his wife, Galileo's Shopping List offers historical insight into tools he bought and used. There is even a form of poetry based on lists called the catalog poem.
